The VA benefits body map

Battle Buddy is an interactive tool being built for Military Benefits Club: an illustrated body map where you tap the region you're rated on — head, ears, eyes, neck/back, chest, arms/hands, legs/knees, or feet — plus a whole-body mode, and see the VA benefits tied to that disability. Instead of scrolling a wall of text organized by acronym, you navigate by where the injury actually is.

Every benefit you'd see is tied to a self-selected rating (0%, 10%, 30%, 50%, 70%, or 100%) and cited directly to VA.gov or the Code of Federal Regulations, with a fetch date attached — the same sourcing discipline we use across Military Benefits Club's directory and Benefit Scan tool. It's built by the same team as this site, on a separate codebase, and it is not affiliated with the VA or DoD.

The eight regions

Plus a whole-body mode for benefits that aren't tied to one region — clothing allowance, auto allowance, housing grants, and Special Monthly Compensation.

Why a body map instead of another benefits list

Every card is cited, not just claimed

Each benefit is traced to a primary source — VA.gov or the applicable 38 CFR diagnostic code — with the date it was last verified, so you can check it yourself instead of taking a benefits app's word for it.

It's honest about "entitled" vs. "prescribed"

Some benefits — clothing allowance, housing grants, Special Monthly Compensation — are unlocked automatically at a rating or a specific loss. Others, like a CPAP machine for sleep apnea or orthotic inserts for flat feet, are furnished through VA health care on your provider's clinical judgment, not because of a rating percentage. Battle Buddy keeps those two categories visually separate instead of blurring them into one "you qualify" list — most benefit sites don't make that distinction at all.

What you'll be able to find

Entitled Annual clothing allowance for a prosthetic, orthopedic device, or skin medication that damages clothing.
Entitled Specially Adapted Housing (SAH) and Special Home Adaptation (SHA) grants for qualifying loss of use.
Entitled Automobile allowance and adaptive equipment for qualifying loss of a foot, hand, or vision.
Entitled Special Monthly Compensation (SMC) on top of your basic rating for loss of use, aid & attendance, or housebound status.
Entitled Disability compensation ratings for tinnitus (DC 6260) and sleep apnea (DC 6847) under 38 CFR Part 4.
Ask your provider A CPAP machine for sleep apnea, or orthotic inserts for flat feet — furnished through VA health care on clinical need, not automatically at a rating.
What this is (and isn't): Battle Buddy is an informational tool, not a claims service and not an eligibility determination. Items tagged "Entitled" describe what the law and VA rules generally provide at a given rating or loss — not a guarantee for your specific case. Items tagged "Ask your provider" are furnished through VA health care based on clinical need, never automatically. Always confirm with the VA or an accredited Veterans Service Officer before counting on a benefit. This site is not affiliated with the VA or DoD.
