Pay retail for Netflix, Spotify, Disney+, and Apple Music and you’re spending $60–80 a month. Most military members are paying full price because they don’t know the deals exist. There are two separate paths to these discounts: the Amex Platinum card route (the better play if you’re active duty) and direct military discount paths that require no credit card at all.
The Amex Platinum stack — active duty get the card free
The Amex Platinum has a $695 annual fee. Under SCRA and MLA, active duty get that fee waived entirely. The card then unlocks two streaming benefits:
$25/month entertainment credit. Apply this toward a Peacock bundle. Some Peacock bundles include Apple One — which packages Apple Music, Apple TV+, Arcade, and iCloud storage. Depending on what’s left after Peacock, the same credit can cover YouTube Premium Lite. One monthly credit, multiple services.
Free Walmart+. Walmart+ membership is included with the card. Walmart+ comes with Paramount+ at no additional charge.

Apply for the Amex Platinum 60–90 days after reporting to your duty station. If you already have the card, verify your fee waiver is active in your account settings. The fee waiver request goes through American Express’s SCRA benefits line.
One caveat: Peacock bundle contents can change. Confirm current Apple One availability before subscribing on that assumption.
Direct military discounts — no credit card required
Peacock — $3.99/month
peacocktv.com/military → verify through SheerID. $3.99 vs. the standard ~$10/month. If you’re already subscribed at full price, cancel and resubscribe through the military path — they don’t apply the discount to existing accounts automatically.
Paramount+ — 50% off
Paramount+‘s website → select Military Discount at checkout → verify through SheerID. About $3.99/month instead of $7.99. Eligible: active duty, veterans, National Guard, Reserve, and military spouses.
Note: if you’re going the Amex Platinum route, Paramount+ comes included with Walmart+ anyway. Pick one path or the other.
Disney+ — 25% off via the Exchange
Disney doesn’t offer a military discount directly. The deal lives at ShopMyExchange.com: buy the annual Disney+ subscription there at roughly 25% off, then activate it at disneyplus.com like any other plan. Eligible: active duty, Guard, Reserve, retirees, and 100% disabled veterans.
Spotify and Apple Music — verify availability
Spotify has offered ~$4.99/month through SheerID. Apple Music has offered discounted rates through SheerID and UNiDAYS. Both have fluctuated. Search “[service] military discount SheerID” to check current availability before assuming either is active.
If you’re going the Amex Platinum route, Apple Music is covered under the Apple One bundle through Peacock — check that path first.
Amazon Music — comes with free active duty Prime
Active duty get Amazon Prime free (up to four years) through Amazon’s military program, verified through SheerID. Amazon Music Unlimited runs $8.99/month for Prime members vs. $10.99 without. Claim free Prime first; music, shipping, and Prime Video all follow.
What doesn’t have a discount
Netflix, Hulu, Max, and YouTube Premium have no military rates. The YouTube family plan ($22.99/month across six people) is usually the best option if you want YouTube Premium — split with people you know.
