Xfinity doesn’t advertise its military program aggressively, but it’s one of the most generous telecom benefits going. Verify your status once, and you get bumped to Diamond Rewards tier with three things civilians don’t get.

What you actually receive

Verified military customers on Xfinity Internet get automatic Diamond Rewards status, which includes:

  • Free Peacock Premium (ad-supported) — normally $7.99/month. Bundled with your Xfinity internet bill at no extra charge. Includes 80,000+ hours of content, live NFL Sunday Night Football, Premier League, Bravo, and most of NBC’s current-season shows. Note: this is the ad-supported Premium tier, not the ad-free Premium Plus tier.
  • $15/month off Xfinity Internet — $180/yr on their Fast tier and up.
  • One free unlimited Xfinity Mobile line for 24 months.

That’s roughly $300 of first-year value stacked on a single verification, which takes about three minutes.

Who qualifies

Active duty, veterans, retirees, Guard and Reserve on active orders, and surviving spouses. The verification goes through ID.me, same as most other military-benefit gates.

How to verify

  1. Go to xfinity.com/military.
  2. Click “Verify with ID.me.”
  3. Log in to ID.me or create an account. If you already use ID.me for VA, GovX, or any other military benefit, this is a one-click flow.
  4. Xfinity applies Diamond tier to your account automatically.
  5. Peacock access propagates within 24-48 hours. Check your Xfinity Rewards page — you’ll see a redeemable Peacock link there.

No paperwork, no phone calls, no waiting for a check to clear.

What to watch for

  • Peacock tier is Ad-Supported Premium, not Premium Plus. If you want ad-free streaming, you’re upgrading on your own dime. The ad-supported tier covers live sports and current shows; the ads are limited during on-demand content.
  • Diamond Rewards also unlocks non-military perks — Regal movie discounts, theme park deals, seasonal offers — so check your Xfinity Rewards page regularly. The military verification is what gets you the free Peacock; the rest is layered on.
  • Mobile line is 24-month promotional. After month 24 the usual Xfinity Mobile pricing kicks in.
  • This is cheaper than Peacock’s own military discount. Peacock Premium offered directly to military is $3.99/month. Through Xfinity it’s $0. If you have Xfinity Internet anyway, don’t buy Peacock separately.

If you don’t have Xfinity

The Xfinity military benefits only apply if you’re an Xfinity customer. If you’re on Spectrum, T-Mobile, or any other ISP, this won’t work for you. Peacock does run its own military discount — $3.99/mo direct — verified via ID.me as a separate program.

For Xfinity customers who haven’t registered: this is genuinely one of the highest-value “verify and done” military benefits out there. About $24/month of value for ~5 minutes of verification.
