🔒 Privacy Policy
We believe you deserve to know exactly what happens with your data — in plain English, not legalese. Short version: we collect very little, we never sell your data, and this page lists every outside service we use.
Who We Are
The Military Benefits Club (militarybenefitsclub.com) is a free, independent website run by an active-duty US service member. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or operated by the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), the Department of Defense (DoD), or any government agency.
Our goal is simple: help veterans and service members find the benefits and discounts they've earned — free to use, supported by ads and affiliate links.
What Data We Collect
You can browse our public pages without an account. Creating a free account — used to unlock the full directory and member content — requires an email address, which is stored securely by our authentication provider, Supabase.
Here is everything we collect, and why:
- Account data: Your email address, login timestamps, and basic usage counters tied to member features. Passwords are handled entirely by Supabase — we never see them. If you ever purchase an optional premium membership, payment is processed by Stripe; we never see your card number.
- Profile details (optional): On your account page you can optionally share your service branch, status (active duty, veteran, retired, guard/reserve, or military family), pay grade, state of residence, VA disability rating (in 10% bands), and whether you have dependents. We use this only to highlight the benefits you're likely eligible for — including the Benefit Scan, which matches your profile against our catalog of state and federal programs. The matching happens inside your own account's database record; we never build a separate profile from it. Every field is optional, you can change or clear any of it anytime, and it is stored in your own private account record — row-level security means no other user can ever see it. We never sell or share it.
- Contact form: If you use the contact form on our Contact page, your name (optional), email address (optional), and message are sent to us via Formspree. These go directly to the site owner's email inbox and nowhere else.
- Analytics: We use PostHog, Umami, and Cloudflare Web Analytics to understand which pages help people (pageviews, clicks, approximate region). Where an analytics tool needs a user identifier, we use a one-way hashed (SHA-256) version of your email — never the address itself. We do not sell or share analytics data.
- Error monitoring: Sentry collects technical error reports (browser type, page URL, error message) when something on the site breaks, so we can fix it.
- Cloudflare infrastructure: Our site is hosted on Cloudflare Pages. Cloudflare may log standard server request data (including IP addresses) as part of their infrastructure security and DDoS protection. We do not have direct access to these logs and they are governed by Cloudflare's Privacy Policy.
Cookies and Local Storage
We store a small number of items in your browser:
theme(local storage) — saves your light/dark mode preference. This never leaves your device.- Login session (local storage plus an
sb-authcookie) — set only when you sign in, so the site knows you're logged in. It's removed when you sign out or your session expires. - Analytics identifiers — PostHog stores a random identifier in your browser so we can count returning visits. Umami and Cloudflare Web Analytics are cookieless.
We do not run any cross-site advertising trackers of our own. If Google AdSense ads go live on category pages, Google may set advertising cookies — see the AdSense entry below for how to opt out of personalized ads.
Third-Party Services
To build and run this site, we use a few outside services. Each has its own privacy policy, which governs how they handle data:
- Cloudflare Pages & Turnstile Hosts this website and powers the CAPTCHA on our contact form to block spam. Cloudflare Privacy Policy

- Google Fonts Provides the Lexend and Source Sans 3 typefaces used across the site. Font files are loaded from Google's servers when you visit a page. Google Privacy Policy

- Google AdSense Displays advertising on select pages to help cover hosting and maintenance costs while keeping the site free. How We Use Your Data
If you submit the contact form, we use the information only to read your message and respond to it. That's it.
- We do not sell your data to anyone.
- We do not share your information with third parties (beyond what's needed for the services listed above to function).
- We may occasionally email members about site updates, new benefits, or new tools. Every email includes an unsubscribe link, and you can opt out at any time.
- We do not build advertising profiles about you.
Children's Privacy
This site is intended for adults — specifically US veterans, active-duty service members, and their families. We do not knowingly collect any personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has submitted information through our contact form, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
Your Rights
If you submitted a message through our contact form and would like us to delete that information, just send us a message with the request. We'll delete the record from our inbox.
If you have an account and want it removed, contact us and we'll delete the account and its associated data (email, usage history) from Supabase.
Because we collect so little data, there's not much else to request — but if you have any questions about what we have or don't have, don't hesitate to reach out.

The Military Benefits Club links out to hundreds of retailers, programs, and official resources. Once you click a link and leave our site, their privacy policies apply — not ours. We recommend reviewing the privacy policy of any site you visit.

Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time — for example, when we add new features like analytics or advertising. When we do, we'll update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. If the changes are significant, we'll make an effort to highlight what changed.
We encourage you to check this page occasionally, especially before submitting any personal information through the contact form.
